Mission   Tidbits

We serve the vibrant community of Canadian professionals and young people in Macao.

Through our community-based digital platform and year-round initiatives, we create opportunities for people to forge lifelong friendships, spawn new business ideas, tackle community issues, and enhance our community and professional life.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Macao (CanCham) was founded in 2004 by Neil Johnston.

We are a non-profit, non-government, members-driven organization spearheaded by company founders, entrepreneurs, and leaders who are influential Canadians in the Macao business community.

Our members have business interests and extended networks in or with Macao, Canada, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.

CanCham Macao and The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong are “sister chambers”, set up to promote an exchange of ideas, curate buzzworthy events, and increase cultural awareness whilst strengthening relationships amongst Canadian citizens in Hong Kong and Macao.

On August 19, 2011, a new governing body was formed with new VPs and Directors appointed to oversee growth of CanCham.

In November 2011, CanCham unveiled an image overhaul including a new logo and refreshed brand identity.

Your Team

Lawrence Ho

President

To many, he is the face of new Macau, the casino mogul who is changing Asia’s gaming world and taking Macau's entertainment to the next level with top-notch water-based show -- The House of Dancing Water.  But at CanCham, he is simply Lawrence...a die-hard ice hockey fan and East Coast patriot who calls “Tronno” (Toronto) his second home. Lawrence is the strategic visionary and the congenial pillar of the CanCham family.

Favourite Holiday/Best Trip:
Christmas getaways. My wife and I still visit and spend our vacations in Canada every year – watching numerous ice-hockey games, needless to say.
Personal Mantra:
My vision always has been to create unique, “Wow!” experiences.
Inside Scoop:
I play in a hockey league called “R66, The Rock.”
